Mercedes-AMG has announced the C63 Cabriolet will celebrate its world premiere this week at the New York Auto Show.

Mercedes introduced the C Class Cabriolet range at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month where the most potent model on stand was the V6-powered C43. If you want the mighty biturbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, the company with the three-pointed star logo has announced the C63 will be on display starting Wednesday at the New York Auto Show.

It’s easy to imagine how the car will look like once all the camo will come off, especially since we already have the C63 Coupe. As it’s the case with its fixed roof sibling, the soft top convertible will come in two flavors: a standard version with 469 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque and the range-topping C63 S offering 503 hp and 516 lb-ft.

There’s no word about performance just yet, but we expect the Mercedes-AMG C63 S Cabriolet to run the sprint to 62 mph (100 kph) in approximately four seconds. This is an estimation made based on the C63 Coupe’s sprint in 3.9 seconds, so an extra 0.1s due to the slightly heavier chassis weight seems plausible. Top speed will be electronically capped to 155 mph (250 kph), but there could be an optional AMG Driver’s Package bumping that limiter to 170-180 mph.

The C63 will likely go on sale this summer alongside its lesser brothers of the newly inaugurated C Class Cabriolet range.

Mercedes will have a very busy 2016 New York Auto Show as the company will also have on display the GLC Coupe, facelifted CLA & CLA Shooting Brake, and the E43 4MATIC.
