Hyundai’s newly established luxury division Genesis has released a teaser for a brand new concept, set to be unveiled next week, March 23, at the 2016 New York Auto Show.
Dubbed the “New York Concept” the vehicle serves as an indication for the future design language. The teaser is billed as being a “four-door sports sedan” with an “athletic elegance,” and is likely to preview a BMW 3 Series fighter. Such a model has already been confirmed by Hyundai Motor America CEO Dave Zuchowski at last year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, so we know for sure it will come sooner or later.
If the teaser image above and short video below are any indication, expect this concept to have much of the same handsome DNA inherited from the G90 we saw in Detroit this year.
The production version of this NY-bound concept will likely be sold with the “G70” moniker. The Genesis brand has also foretold plans to come out with a few derivatives, including a crossover.
A vehicle based on this concept is likely to be the third model to join the new premium family, following the G90 and G80 which replaced the Hyundai Equus and Genesis, respectively. As a side note, Genesis launched just yesterday a long-wheelbase G90 which is actually longer than the Mercedes-Maybach S Class.
