Nissan has released a rather uninformative teaser image for the updated GT-R that will make its official debut during the upcoming New York Auto Show.

The 2016 New York Auto Show is quickly approaching and several manufacturers have already shared information about premieres that will take place during the event. Nissan is joining them, releasing a “special” teaser image, depicting the rear end of a GT-R.

While we are not entirely sure what the Japanese company is preparing, most likely we are dealing with a light facelift for the model. The 2017 model year is expected to bring minor visual changes, while the interior will get the latest version of Nissan’s infotainment system.

Some reports say the 2017 GT-R will also get improvements for its powertrain, which means we can expect a slight power boost. We’re taking those rumors with a grain of salt, as the 3.8-liter biturbo V6 engine of the Godzilla is already close to its maximum potential at factory 545 horsepower (401 kilowatts) and 460 pound-feet (623 newton meters) of torque.

The New York Auto Show starts next week, so it won’t take long until we have all the official information about the refreshed GT-R.
