Porsche employees are about to receive a significant bonus worth €8,911 after a great 2015 which was actually the company’s most successful year in history.

Last year, Porsche managed to deliver a total of 225,121 cars, representing a massive 19% jump compared to 2014. It was the automaker’s best year ever as revenue rose by 25% to just under €21.5 billion while the operating profit increased as well by 25% to €3.4 billion. To celebrate this achievement, Porsche AG will hand out an impressive €8,911 bonus to approximately 15,600 employees.

The bonus actually consists of two components. The first one worth €8,211 will be going into the employees' accounts while the second one worth the remaining €700 will be a contribution to the Porsche VarioRente pension scheme or to individual retirement provisions.

Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, had a few things to say about this decision, declaring “the bonus is the justly deserved reward for the great commitment shown by our employees. My special thanks go out to them, because their knowledge and their dedication have contributed to our achieving such an exceptional result in what is by no means an easy environment.”

As far as future plans are concerned, Porsche will launch later this year the all-new Panamera and we also expect to see the 718 Cayman. Other new models on the agenda include the 911 GT3 facelift, 911 GT2, Panamera Shooting Brake, and next-gen Cayenne. In addition, Porsche is already working on the next-gen 911 (which will spawn a hybrid version) and at the same time engineers are developing a production version of the pure electric Mission E concept due around 2020.
