Following a preview earlier this year, Ford has released new pictures and a video of the Falcon XR6 and XR8 Sprint.
Designed as a last hurrah for the rear-wheel-drive sedan, the limited edition models feature a modestly revised exterior with body side graphics, a trunk-mounted spoiler, and 19-inch alloy wheels with a black finish. The cars have also been equipped with black headlight bezels, new fog light surrounds, and a high-performance Brembo braking system with gold calipers. The range-topping XR8 Sprint goes one step further as it boasts a Silhouette black roof and black mirror caps.
The unique styling continues in the cabin as designers installed leather and suede sport seats, a revised instrument cluster, and a unique shifter. The models also come equipped with generous amounts of standard equipment including a dual-zone automatic climate control system, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a premium audio system, and a SYNC 2 infotainment system with GPS navigation.
The entry-level Falcon XR6 Sprint is powered by a turbocharged 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine that produces 435 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque or 496 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque with overboost.
Moving up to the XR8 Sprint rewards buyers with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 462 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque. However, those figures climb to 536 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque when overboost is factored in.
The Ford Falcon Spirit will go on sale in May and production will be limited to 1,400 units. Pricing starts at $54,990 AUD for the XR6 Sprint while the XR8 Sprint will retail for $59,990 AUD.
