The LEGO universe is about to become even more exciting for car fans as a Caterham Super Seven set is currently in the works.

The new set will come to life thanks to Carl Greatrix as he was the one who came up with the idea for a blocky Caterham Super Seven and proposed this design through the LEGO Ideas program.

It’s a neat way to share an idea of a new LEGO set and if the creator receives support from 10,000 people then the set enters the LEGO Review phase. His project was analyzed by the LEGO staff and received the green light of approval which means that it will officially be built.

Described by Carl as being a kit of a kit car, the submitted design is actually for two cars that have different liveries and one of them adopts a more exposed look by lacking doors and a windscreen.

The project was submitted in the second review qualification period of last year and LEGO says it’s currently working on the product’s final design. Details concerning pricing and availability will be disclosed later this year.
