The World Car Awards has announced the finalists for this year's competition at the Geneva Motor Show.
In the title category of World Car of the Year, the Audi A4 / A4 Avant will be fighting for top honors against the Mazda MX-5 and the Mercedes GLC.
The 2016 World Luxury Car of the Year award will go to either the Audi Q7, BMW 7 Series, or Volvo XC90.
The four-ringed brand will also compete for the title of World Performance Car as the Audi R8 will square off against the Honda Civic Type R and the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe.
At the other end of the spectrum, the Chevrolet Volt will battle the Toyota Mirai and the Toyota Prius for the title of 2016 World Green Car.
Last but not least, the three competitors for the World Car Design of the Year award include the Jaguar XE, Mazda CX-3, and Mazda MX-5.
A jury of 73 automotive journalists will now select the winners and they will be announced at the New York International Auto Show on March 24th.
