Volvo will bring the exclusive XC90 Excellence to the 2016 Geneva Motor Show for a European debut.

Almost a year ago we saw the XC90 Excellence for the first time at the Shanghai Auto Show and now Volvo is finally ready to introduce the model to the European customers. The Swedish automaker says that online sales of the “most luxurious car in Volvo Cars’ 89 year history” have already started in Switzerland, France, Belgium, and Luxemburg and that China and the United States will be joining this spring.

Based on the already good-looking XC90 SUV, the Excellence version offers room for four passengers, sitting in four individual heated, ventilated, massaged, and electrically adjusted seats. To ensure the best comfort for the rear passengers, the vehicle also offers improved legroom, folding tables, crystal glasses, and a refrigerator.

In addition, the entire cabin uses better noise insulation, which is combined with Pirelli noise-cancelling tires and a 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system.

Power for this model comes from the T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid powerplant that uses a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor for a system output of 410 horsepower (302 kilowatts).

“The XC90 Excellence offers a sublime and luxurious experience. It is our top-of-the-line XC90 offer and we see a lot of interest from our more affluent customers,” comments Björn Annwall, senior vice president marketing, sales and service at Volvo Cars. “The additional sound insulation, enhanced Bowers & Wilkins sound system and convenience of rear seat controls take the XC90 Excellence to a new level of luxurious calm and comfort.”
