ABT won’t be the only tuner in Geneva to display a modified VW T6 as MTM has also prepared an aftermarket package for the latest Transporter.

ABT won’t be the only tuner in Geneva to display a modified VW T6 as MTM has also prepared an aftermarket package for the latest Transporter.

Called “T6 E-Motion”, MTM’s version is actually a bit more interesting as it has gained an electrically-powered rear axle. This was possible by installing 2 x 15 kW electric hub engines which add a total of 42 horsepower (30 kW.) The electrified rear axle was installed on an already beefy T6 equipped with the torquetastic biturbodiesel 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

MTM fiddled with the BiTDI engine that now churns 240 hp (177 kW) at 4,000 rpm delivered to the front axle through a seven-speed S-tronic gearbox. With the power of the combustion unit and the two electric hub engines combined, the VW T6 will generate 282 hp (207 kW) and a huge 812 pound-feet (1,110 newton meters) of torque.

The extra punch will enable the VW T6 go from 0 to 62 miles (100 kilometers) per hour in 8.2 seconds and reach a maximum velocity of 133 mph (215 kph.) In order to efficiently stop those 20-inch Michelin-wrapped Bimoto wheels, MTM has installed a set of Brembo performance brakes with six-piston calipers.

MTM is asking $56,759 (€51,920) for the entire package including vehicle, warranty, tax, and installation.

The VW T6 E-Motion is going to be exhibited at the 86th Geneva Motor Show starting March 1 alongside MTM’s 802-hp Audi S8 Talladega R and 410-hp VW Amarok V8 Passion Desert Edition.
