Rolls-Royce has announced a Zenith special edition will serve as epilogue for the outgoing Phantom.

Rolls-Royce has announced a Zenith special edition will serve as the epilogue for the outgoing Phantom.

The seventh-generation Phantom hit the assembly line in Goodwood more than 13 years ago, so naturally Rolls-Royce is making all the efforts to replace it. However, the Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe will not receive a new generation as Rolls-Royce has decided the two body styles will be terminated for good.

To give these two Phantoms a proper send-off, RR is launching a Zenith special edition for the Coupe and Drophead Coupe limited to 50 units. Production of the Phantom duo will come to an end in November and the limousine will also reach the end of the line this year.

Rolls-Royce mentions the Zenith collection will be “the best of its kind; the highest standard achievable by which everything else is judged”, according to Director of Design, Giles Taylor. He goes on to specify the “Zenith will be the sum of all the best features of Phantom Coupé and Drophead Coupé, with a few surprises added.”

The Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe Zenith are going to feature unique instrument dials, a special finish for the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, and a Tailgate Hosting Area. Moreover, these 50 cars will have laser-etched armrest showing the original launch locations of the 100EX in Villa D’Este and 101EX in Geneva. As a final touch, all 50 owners will also get a “money cannot buy” portable memento of the high-end vehicle.

As for the next-gen Phantom limousine, we know it will have an evolutionary design and will ride on a newly developed aluminum architecture set to underpin all Rolls-Royce models starting early 2018.
