The Megane is already on sale in Europe and Renault is adding a new member to the family with the introduction of the more practical wagon version. At the Swiss auto show the French manufacturer will bring the range-topping Megane Estate GT variant.
Renault still doesn’t have much to say about the model, but explains it will be the first C-segment estate to benefit from the 4CONTROL four-wheel steering that provides “precise, dynamic handling on twisty roads” and generates “genuine driving pleasure.” It will also be equipped with different bumpers with wider air inlet at the front, specific honeycomb mesh on the radiator grille, chromed exhaust tail pipes, and an aggressive diffuser at the back.
We don’t have exact technical details at the moment, but don’t expect any changes in the engine range over the Megane Hatch. This means customers will be able to choose from three gasoline and three diesel engines. These include the TCe 100, 130, and 205 (in the GT variant), as well as the diesel dCi 90, 110, 130.
Full details will be released on March 1, when the new Megane Estate will make its first official appearance at Hall 4 at the Geneva Motor Show.
