Cadillac has announced the 2017 XT5 will be priced from $38,995 when it goes on sale in the United States in April.

Billed as one of the company's most important models, the crossover has a stylish exterior with a prominent grille that is flanked by unique shaped headlights.  The model also has a rakish windscreen, a sloping roof, and 18- or 20-inch alloy wheels.

The upscale styling continues in the cabin as customers will find a significantly improved interior with higher-quality materials and a modern design.  Cadillac declined to release detailed specifications but the company has previously said the model can be equipped with leather seats and aluminum, carbon fiber, or wood fiber trim.  The crossover also features a new CUE infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

A 3.6-liter V6 engine resides under the hood and produces an estimated 310 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque.  The engine is connected to a new eight-speed automatic transmission which can be paired to an optional all-wheel-drive system on Luxury and Premium Luxury variants.  Customers who shell out $62,500 for the range-topping XT5 Platinum will receive all-wheel drive as standard equipment.

Note: Pricing excludes a $995 destination fee
