Due to popular demand, Chevrolet has announced plans to offer a Midnight Edition of the Silverado and Colorado trucks for the 2016 model year as well.

You can get the Midnight Edition on either the Silverado 1500 Z71 or the Colorado Z71 which share a monochromatic appearance and special “Z71” badges on the doors. Both models have an all-black exterior appearance and even the alloy wheels adopt a similar dark theme to blend with the body.

Chevy is selling these two models with a locking rear differential, transfer case shield, Hill Descent Control, and Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires to boost the model's versatility. Rounding off the changes are the black Chevy bowties, spray-in bedliner, along with side and beltline moldings which as you might have guessed already also come in black.

The Silverado and Colorado Midnight Editions are going to be available later this spring, with pricing to be announced closer to launch. The all-black theme applied onto the Silverado and Colorado has helped Chevy increase truck sales in 2015 by a significant 27%.

We remind you Chevy launched last year similar Midnight Editions for other models in its lineup, including the Trax crossover and Impala sedan. It's not known at this point whether the two models will get the black treatment for the new model year.
