Irmscher has introduced the new Opel Karl Race Edition.

Designed to give the car a sportier appearance, the Race Edition features hood stripes, body side graphics, and 16-inch Turbo Star alloy wheels with a white finish.  Additional changes are limited but the tuning firm also installed velour floor mats with silver edging and "Race Edition" embroidery.

The model is currently available through Opel Irmscher dealers and the company says customers should hurry to get their orders in as Irmscher only intends to build approximately 100 units.

As a refresher, the Opel Karl was launched last year and is largely identical to the Chevrolet / Holden Spark.  Despite the styling similarities, the Karl is significantly less powerful than its counterparts as it features a 1.0-liter Ecotec three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 74 horsepower and 70 pound-feet of torque.

While the Karl won't be winning any races, the car starts at just €9,500.  Unfortunately, the entry-level variant is sparsely equipped as it features manual windows and door locks as well as 14-inch steel wheels.  The cost savings even extended to the sun visors as they eschew makeup mirrors.
