The countdown to the Super Bowl continues as Hyundai has released two 30 second commercials which promote the 2017 Elantra. The first clip is called "The Chase" and it features two hikers that are being chased by bears. As the couple rushes to the car, one uses his smartwatch to start the car via Hyundai’s voice-activated Blue Link Remote Start system. The ad will air during the first quarter and the company hopes the spot will highlight the car's advanced technology.

The countdown to the Super Bowl continues as Hyundai has released two 30 second commercials which promote the 2017 Elantra.

The first clip is called "The Chase" and it features two hikers that are being chased by bears.  As the couple rushes to the car, one uses his smartwatch to start the Elantra via Hyundai’s Blue Link Remote Start app.  The ad will be shown during the first quarter and the company hopes the spot will highlight the car's advanced technology.

The second commercial is titled "Ryanville" and shows two women driving around the "most distracting neighborhood ever."  Since everyone in the town is Ryan Reynolds, the women get distracted and narrowly avoid an accident thanks to the Elantra's automatic emergency braking system.  Hyundai says the ad is a "light-hearted look at the simple fact that all humans are prone to distractions."

The 2017 Hyundai Elantra went on sale earlier this month and features a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque.  Buyers looking for something more frugal can opt for the Elantra Eco which has a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder with 128 hp and 156 lb-ft of torque.  Pricing starts at $17,150 and excludes an $835 destination fee.
