The Ford F-150 Raptor is one of the best off-road focused pickups on the market and a new report is indicating the company could offer a Ranger Raptor.

Speaking with Motoring, Ford Performance communications manager Paul Seredynski said a Ranger Raptor is a "fascinating idea.”  That's far from a confirmation but the company has previously announced plans to offer at least 12 new performance models including the Focus RS, F-150 Raptor, and Ford GT.

A Ranger Raptor would certainly be an interesting addition to the lineup but Ford Performance chief engineer Tyrone Johnson noted "everything we do has to have a solid business case" as the company isn't interested in models that lose money.  That being said, Johnson stated a Ranger Raptor "could be considered" if the company can build a business case for the model.

Unfortunately, a production model is likely several years off as the Ranger isn't expected to be offered in the United States until production of the C-Max and Focus ends at the Michigan Assembly Plant in 2018.  That's assuming, of course, the Ranger Raptor is green-lighted in the first place.
