Audi has announced the 2017 R8 will be priced from $162,900 in the United States.
Set to go on sale later this year, the entry-level R8 V10 features an evolutionary design as well as LED headlights, an active rear spoiler, and 19-inch aluminum wheels.
The interior comes nicely equipped with 18-way power seats, Nappa leather upholstery, and a 13-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system. Drivers will also find a flat-bottom steering wheel and an Audi Virtual cockpit system which replaces the traditional instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch digital display.
Power is provided by a naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter FSI V10 engine that develops 540 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and a rear-biased quattro all-wheel drive system. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 199 mph.
Buyers looking for something more powerful can opt for the R8 V10 plus which starts at $189,900. It features an upgraded engine that produces 610 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the extra power, the model runs from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds before topping out at 205 mph.
Besides the upgraded engine, the R8 V10 plus is distinguished by an aggressive carbon fiber body kit that includes a front lip spoiler, a rear diffuser, and a fixed rear wing. The range-topping model also has carbon ceramic brakes, carbon fiber mirror caps, a sports exhaust system, and lightweight racing seats.
Note: Prices exclude a $1,250 destination charge
