Set to debut tomorrow at the North American International Auto Show, the facelifted Ford Fusion has been spotted once again on US roads.

This isn’t your ordinary Fusion as the near-production prototype seen here is actually a “Sport” variant featuring a rear spoiler and quad tailpipes. Ford could also be cooking up a hot ST version with the turbo 2.3-liter four-cylinder borrowed from the Mustang. Some people are even saying the Fusion ST will actually be equipped with the beefier 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 paired to an all-wheel drive system.

Taking into account this is just a mid-cycle facelift, it’s no wonder the styling changes are not very significant. However, we do notice the reworked front fascia with a new look for the grille that tries to move away from its Aston Martin origins. In addition, the front bumper features modified air intakes to give the Fusion a more aggressive look. The headlights and fog lights are also a little bit different, while in the previous batch of spy shots we saw some subtle revisions of the taillights.

Photos of the interior are not available at this point, but we are pretty sure the Blue Oval company will make some changes to the cabin where the midsize sedan will gain the SYNC 3 infotainment system.

The 2017 Ford Fusion facelift will be officially revealed tomorrow on the dawn of the Detroit Auto Show.
