Mercedes has released yet another teaser image of the 2016 E Class, this time showing the midsize sedan’s front fascia.

It seems Mercedes wants to tease the 2016 E Class right until the very last minute and now we have a look at the unmasked front end which as we all know has a lot in common with the C Class. The teaser is actually pointless taking into account there was a massive leak earlier this week showing Daimler’s new midsize contender from virtually all angles. Mercedes has already showed us the S Class-derived interior, so all we need right now are the technical specifications.

Some of these have already emerged onto the web and according to German media the new E Class is going to be 193.8 inches (4,922 millimeters) long and will have a drag coefficient of just 0.23. From day one, the executive sedan in E220d guise will get a new turbodiesel 2.0-liter with 195 horsepower and granting a fuel economy of 60.3 miles per gallon (3.9 liters / 100 km). There’s also going to be an E200 with a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine, but it’s output is not known at this point.

Later on, the E350e plug-in hybrid will join the range by pairing a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor good enough for a combined 279 hp. Mercedes also has plans for 150 hp and 258 hp turbodiesels and a bunch of gasoline engines ranging in power from 183 hp to 333 hp. The cream of the crop will obviously be the biturbo 4.0-liter V8 engine in the Mercedes-AMG E63 where it could have up to 580 horsepower in the flagship E63 S.

The all-new Mercedes E Class (W213) will be unveiled on Monday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
