Aston Martin and Letv have unveiled a new Rapide S concept at the Consumer Electronics Show.

Despite looking fairly ordinary, the model has a unique interior that features a digital instrument cluster with a 12.2-inch display.  The car has also been equipped with a new center stack that replaces the familiar buttons and knobs with a 13.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.  The model also features speech recognition technology, a remote monitoring system, and WiFi connectivity.

Aston Martin didn't mention any mechanical changes so the concept is likely powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 552 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque.  This enables the standard model to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds before hitting a top speed of 203 mph.

Letv might not be a household name outside of China but the company is a global technology firm that builds smartphones and provides everything from video streaming services to sports coverage - including Major League Baseball (MLB) games.  The company signed a memorandum of understanding with Aston Martin in late 2015 and the agreement calls for the two companies to explore the development of connected electric vehicles.

In a statement, Aston Martin CEO Dr. Andrew Palmer said “Aston Martin is renowned for the beauty and quality of its hand-crafted cars. The integration of Letv advanced connected technologies into this bespoke environment is a natural progression as we look to the future demands of our customers”.
