The Audi A3 Cabrio has been on the market for a couple of years, so the company is preparing a minor facelift for the entry-level drop top.
Set to be unveiled sometime next year, the facelifted A3 Cabrio has a familiar design but is distinguished by a new front bumper, a revised grille, and restyled headlights that mimic the ones used on the A4. Additional changes are limited, but there appears to be a slightly revised rear bumper.
The interior is largely expected to carryover but we wouldn't be surprised to see updated trim and upholstery options. More significantly, the model could be equipped with a digital instrument cluster and an updated infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Under the hood, we can expect an assortment of familiar petrol and diesel options. However, there could be a new turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 190 horsepower (141 kilowatts) and features cylinder deactivation technology. The other engines could receive minor modifications to increase performance and fuel efficiency but nothing is official as of yet.
The facelifted A3 is rumored to debut at the 2016 Paris Motor so expect to learn more in the coming months.
