Latest spy photos show Audi is putting the finishing touches on its upcoming A4 allroad due in the first half of 2016.

While at first glance you might be tempted to say it’s the A4 Avant, but hiding underneath the familiar skin is actually its rugged counterpart, the allroad. You cannot see the plastic body cladding around the wheel arches because of the camouflage, but trust us it’s there. The jacked up suspension is also a clear giveaway we are dealing with the allroad version that will obviously come as standard with a quattro arrangement.

The model will also gain front + rear stainless steel underbody protection along with an aluminum trim on the side skirts. To further separate it from the regular A4 Avant, Audi will also make some tweaks inside the cabin, but nothing of major importance.

As far as the engines are concerned, the usual suspects will be found under the hood, so expect the 2.0 TFSI, 2.0 TDI, and the bigger 3.0 TDI to be on offer.

It’s too early to talk about exact pricing, but the base model will likely cost more than $43,836 (€40,000) at home in Germany. We will have more on this in the first half of next year since the A4 allroad will likely debut in March at the Geneva Motor Show.
