Ford has quietly confirmed the facelifted Fusion will make its global debut during the Detroit Auto Show in January 2016.

While we have already seen several spy photos and a leaked corporate document, showing minor design changes for the model, Ford is staying relatively tight-lipped on details. However, the company has just announced the 2017 Fusion will receive its unveiling on January 11.

There’s still no official teaser image, but our colleagues at Motor Authority shared a photo of a covered car with a sign saying “Top Secret: Do not move until 01.11.2016” next to it. Word on the street says we are going to see not only the refreshed Fusion, but also the Fusion Energi – the plug-in hybrid version.

We can already confirm the D-segment vehicle won’t get any changes to the side profile and revisions will be focused to the front end, where a slightly larger radiator grille and redesigned headlights will be installed. The leaked low-res image of the new Fusion also revealed it will get new LED daytime running lights and additional chrome accents.

Aside from the updated engine range, we also expect an improved infotainment system. Ford will likely install its SYNC 3 system along with improved materials in the interior.
