Mercedes and Mario are teaming up once again as the German automaker has developed a special course for Nintendo's Super Mario Maker video game.

Dubbed the Mercedes-Benz Event Course, the level has Mario arriving at a Mercedes dealership and taking a GLA for a test drive.  The level also includes an autobahn section and Mercedes' iconic three-pointed star recreated in retro-inspired bricks.  Mercedes says the classic video game character will also be in for some surprises and one of them appears to be a parking structure called "ParkHaus Madne$$."

Once players successfully complete the level, a Mercedes GLA will be added to their collection of "Mario-Costumes" in the game.

In a statement, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing said “It’s great that a luxury car brand like Mercedes-Benz recognizes the ability to create fun courses and share them with others."

To help promote the level, Mercedes released a new promotional video which features Mario and the GLA 45 AMG.  The high-performance variant boasts a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 375 hp (279 kW).  It is connected to a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel drive system which enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds.
