Toyota has introduced the 2016 Yaris in the United Kingdom, available with several improvements.

First of all, the Japanese supermini gets a new Design trim level, offered for the five-door models with 1.33 VVT-i petrol, 1.4 D-4D diesel, and hybrid powertrain options. This grade grants customers with rich equipment, including cruise control, DAB tuner, Bluetooth, parking camera, dual-zone climate control (hybrid only), 16-inch black and machined alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, projector headlights, etc.

The Yaris is also getting two optional packages – the Convenience Pack and the Premium Pack. The first one, available for petrol and diesel Design versions, costs $1,440 (£950) and adds automatic headlights and wipers, keyless entry, auto-folding door mirrors, dual-zone climate control, and push-button start. The Premium Pack, available for Excel Hybrid models at $1,660 (£1,095), includes a panoramic roof, rear spoiler, keyless entry, auto-folding door mirrors, and Toyota Touch 2 with Go navigation.

No technical changes have been applied and the model is still available with a choice of four different engines. Petrol variants include 1.0 and 1.33 VVT-i units with 5- and 6-speed manuals and the Multidrive S, while the 1.4 D4D diesel is available exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox. There’s also the 1.5 VVT-i Hybrid that has a CVT transmission.

Already available to order, the model wears a starting price of $17,430 (£11,495). First deliveries to customers will begin in late December.
