Two images showing a potential hot version of the Fiat Aegea / Tipo Sedan have hit the web through the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM).
This could be just a styling package as a performance version would be more suitable for the Abarth badge. On the other hand, it does have dual exhaust tips, rear diffuser, lowered sports suspension, and a subtle trunk spoiler lip. These are all signs of a beefier derivative of the Aegea / Tipo rather than just a simple visual upgrade.
We also notice the black “356 S” body decal indicating this new derivative will likely be called “Aegea S”, with the “356” representing the standard model’s codename. Speaking of the body, it’s now beefed up thanks to more aggressive front and rear bumpers and enlarged side skirts. In addition, the fins on the front grille are painted red just like the body, while the side mirror caps and the roof have a contrasting black finish.
It remains a mystery what powers the Aegea S, but it could be a 1.4-liter turbo with 138 hp (103 kW) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque sent to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. It’s not known at this point whether the upcoming five-door hatchback will also receive this treatment.
