According to a recent report, the next-generation Nissan Juke will be offered with a range-extended electric powertrain.

Details are limited but Motoring is reporting the model will feature the company's new Pure Drive e-Power system that consists of a small displacement petrol engine, a battery pack and an electric motor sourced from the LEAF.  This setup will reportedly enable the model to produce 107 bhp (80 kW) and 187 lb-ft (254 Nm) of torque.

Buyers seeking a more traditional option won't be out of luck as the standard Juke is expected to be offered with an assortment of four-cylinder engines including a turbocharged 1.6-liter unit that develops 217 bhp (162 kW) and 191 lb-ft (260 Nm) of torque.

Nissan has been tight-lipped about the next Juke but Motoring is reporting the model feature some styling cues from the recently introduced Gripz concept.  The Juke won't be nearly as adventurous as the concept but features such as the prominent V-Motion grille could carry over to the road-going model.

The next-generation Juke will reportedly be introduced next year and ride on the CMF-B architecture that will underpin the next Micra and Renault Clio.
