The classic GAZ 69 has received a complete makeover from Russian tuning company Truck Garage.

We were unfamiliar with what Truck Garage is working on but since we saw the GAZ 69 project we quickly became fans of the tuning studio. The guys from St. Petersburg are planning to transform 12 examples of the “mountain goat” into V8 beasts with different styling modifications.

Currently there's only one finalized machine and it features a 6.4-liter V8 Hemi engine, delivering 465 hp (342 kW) that are channeled to all four wheels through an all-wheel drive system and an automatic transmission. Other technical improvements include adjustable coilovers, ARB rear differential, Teraflex disc brakes for all four wheels, and 17-inch alloy wheels with 35-inch off-road tires.

Step inside the cabin and you will find a retro atmosphere with some cool gadgets, such as leather electric-adjustable seats and retro-looking audio system with Bluetooth interface and iPhone connectivity.

For the other vehicles Truck Garage will be offering 5.7- or 6.1-liter engines and similar technical upgrades. Some of them will feature a retractable soft top, while others will have a classic hardtop cabin. Several different colors will be available, while prices will start from around $57,770.
