JLR has issued a reminder about its plans to host a public display for the Defender 2,000,000 during a two-day Series Land Rover and Defender heritage exhibition at Bonhams London.

A very special car in Land Rover’s history, the 2,000,000th Defender will be on public display during the December 15-16 interval as part of an exhibition that will celebrate 67 years of UK production. It’s more than just a regular Defender as it comes with a Silver Satin body adorned by an engraved map of Red Wharf Bay where the original model was drawn in sand.

The iconic off-roader also boasts Santorini Black accents on the mirrors, grille, wheel arches, door hinges, and the wheels. It can be visually distinguished thanks to the legendary “S90 HUE” license plate and a "no 2,000,000" badge at the back. The interior cabin also hosts some special tweaks, including an aluminum plaque singed by all those involved in the assembly process.

You will be able to check it out live at Bonhams London where Roger Crathorne, aka “Mr Land Rover”, will talk about the model’s prolific history and will share interesting info about his 50 years' service with Land Rover.

The special exhibition is going to precede a charity where the one-off Defender will be auctioned. All the money earned will be directed towards the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Born Free Foundation.

As most of you know, Land Rover will end production of the Defender next month and there will be a significant hiatus until the new model’s arrival. There are some rumors indicating production of the vehicle could be transferred to a factory outside Europe. If this turns out to be true, Land Rover could make the Defender in India taking into account the company is owned by Tata Motors. As for the new one, it will probably be built at the newly announced plant in Slovakia and should be out around 2018.
