A new report coming from the UK states Bentley has plans for a hardcore “coupe” version of the Bentayga.
You can think of it as Bentley’s X6 M / GLE63 S Coupe and will apparently show up in conceptual form at the Geneva Motor Show next March. The company’s product line director, Peter Guest, told Auto Express the beefier Bentayga will be further tweaked for on-road performance, but will still have four doors and four seats.
The sloped roofline will have a negative impact on the rear headroom and also on the trunk’s capacity, but that won’t matter for someone in the market for such a vehicle. It will look more aggressive than the regular Bentayga thanks to a wider body, bigger wheels, stiffer suspension, and a sports exhaust setup.
It’s not known at this point what will power the Bentayga “Coupe”, but a safe bet would be a stronger iteration of the W12 6.0-liter twin-turbo engine. It currently develops 608 PS (447 kW) and 900 Nm (663 lb-ft) of torque and Bentley has already said future versions of the engine will have more punch.
A weight loss could also be in tow to enable the meaner Bentayga hit 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than four seconds before reaching more than 200 mph (322 km/h).
Taking into account the rumor mill points to a Geneva reveal of the concept, it means Bentley likely has plans to introduce the production version at the Paris Motor Show in October. As for price, sky’s the limit…
