Buick has introduced the new Verano Hatchback and Verano GS at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

Based on the Opel Astra, the models have a familiar appearance but adopt a waterfall grille and Buick badging.  The Verano GS goes one step further as it features a sporty body kit, red accents, and 17-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels with a dark-painted finish.

Moving into the cabin, drivers will find a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, ambient lighting, and an IntelliLink infotainment system with an 8-inch display and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Once again, the Verano GS stands out as there's Alcantara sports seats, red contrast stitching, and Flame Red ambient lighting.  The model also has faux carbon fiber trim and a bright red strip on the dashboard.

The Verano Hatchback is powered by a 1.5-liter SIDI engine that produces 116 bhp (87 kW) and 107 lb-ft (146 Nm) of torque.  It is connected exclusively to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Likewise, the Verano GS has a turbocharged 1.5-liter SIDI engine with 166 bhp (124 kW) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque.  The engine is paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which enables the model to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 8.8 seconds.

Chinese dealers are already accepting pre-orders and pricing starts at 145,900 RMB.
