Chevrolet has announced the 2016 Cruze will be priced from $17,495 when it goes on sale in the United States next spring.

Chevrolet hasn't released specifications but the company has already confirmed the entry-level Cruze L will come with a standard rearview camera and a MyLink infotainment system with a 7-inch display and Android Auto / Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Power is provided by a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder that produces 153 bhp (113 kW) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission and Chevrolet says the model will accelerate from 0-60 mph in approximately eight seconds.

The mid-level Cruze LS will retail for $18,995 while the Cruze LS with an automatic transmission will cost $19,995.  Likewise, the Cruze LT will cost $21,995 while the Cruze Premier will start at $23,995.

The latter two models will feature projector-beam headlights with LED daytime running lamps.  The Premier can also be equipped with an RS package that includes unique bumpers, a revised grille, and 18-inch wheels.  The package also includes fog lights, a front splitter, revised side skirts, and a rear spoiler.

The higher-end variants can also be equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated leather seats, and a wireless smartphone charger.  Other options include Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Forward Collision Alert - just to name a few.
