After being revealed earlier today in US specification, the Fiat 124 Spider is now back to show its European face.

This second reveal gives us the chance to see Italy’s Miata in new paint schemes and if you look closely you’ll notice the headlights and taillights have a slightly different look. Unsurprisingly, the US-spec’s compulsory orange side markers are gone and this has enabled a cleaner appearance.

Although the cars share a 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo engine, in Euro configuration it’s unfortunately down on power as it delivers 140 bhp (104 kW) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) whereas the North American setup has 160 bhp (119 kW) and 184 lb-ft (249 Nm). The US-spec 124 Spider will be offered with both a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic, but it’s not known at this point whether the version sold on the old continent will get the optional auto.

Full details should be published in the coming months as the Fiat 124 Spider is slated to hit European dealerships in the second half of next year. If you are not entirely satisfied by the power figures, Fiat has already announced an “extreme” Abarth version is on its way with more muscle and other hardware upgrades.
