Abarth has introduced the new 695 Biposto Record in the United Kingdom.
Designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Carlo Abarth's acceleration record in a Class G car at the Monza race track in 1965, the 695 Biposto Record features an exclusive Modena Yellow exterior with Tar Cold Grey accents and carbon fiber components. The special edition has also been equipped with Brembo brakes, a sporty Akrapovic dual exhaust system, and 18-inch OZ Racing wheels. Buyers will also notice enameled "695 Record" badging on the sides behind the door handles.
The interior largely carries over from the standard 695 Biposto but it features Sabelt carbon shell seats with four-point harnesses. The cabin also boasts an individually-numbered plaque, a cargo net, and a revised instrument cluster with a special start-up animation.
Power is provided by a 1.4-liter Turbo T-Jet engine that produces 190 PS (139 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a manual transmission which enables the 997 kg (2,198 lb) hatchback to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 5.9 seconds before hitting a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h).
Production will be limited to 133 units worldwide and U.K. pricing starts at £36,610 OTR.
