A reader of French magazine Auto Moto has spotted what appears to be the next generation Renault Fluence.

Renault introduced the all-new Megane five-door hatchback several months ago and unsurprisingly testing continues for the upcoming derivatives, with the first of the bunch being the more practical wagon due to come out early next year. What we have in the attached spy shots from near L'Aigle in France is the four-door version which will likely continue to be sold with the “Fluence” moniker, unless Renault decides to bring back the Megane Sedan moniker, although it’s unlikely.

It will be interesting to see whether the new Fluence will be based on the Megane IV or if Renault will decide to use the old platform to keep the price tag low. We are inclined to believe the Fluence won’t be an all-new car since the model has always been considered a lesser version of the Megane, with a lower price and with a different market.

Even though the car spotted here is dressed in full body camouflage there’s no point in talking about the design as we all know it will look pretty much like a downsized, budget version of the Laguna-replacing Talisman mid-size sedan.

An official introduction of the new Renault Fluence will likely take place sometime in 2016.
