McLaren has used the Dubai International Motor Show to introduce the new 650S Spider Al Sahara 79.

Created by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the 650S Spider Al Sahara 79 features a pearlescent white gold exterior which uses 24 carat gold particles to give the model a subtle shimmer. McLaren says the unique paintjob draws inspiration from the "golden sands which form such a distinctive part of the Middle Eastern landscape."

The special edition has also a gloss black retractable hard top, MSO-branded side blades and gloss black alloy wheels.  There's also a variety of carbon fiber components including the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser.

The unique styling continues in the cabin as MSO installed Black and Almond White leather sports seats, contrast stitching and pearlescent white gold accents on the steering wheel, center console and door panels.  The model also has unique switchgear and air vents with a distinctive dark golden finish.

Power is provided by a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine that produces 650 PS (641 bhp / 478 kW) and 678 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque.  It enables the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.0 seconds before hitting a top speed of 204 mph (329km/h).

The McLaren 650S Spider Al Sahara 79 will be available exclusively for Middle East customers and pricing starts at 1,456,308 AED ($396,538 / €370,233).
