BMW has presented MotoGP best qualifier Marc Marquez with the 2015 BMW M Award and a bespoke M6 Convertible.

Presented over the weekend, the one-off model has an exclusive BMW Individual Frozen Blue Metallic exterior with "numerous" BMW M Performance Parts and 20-inch M lightweight alloy wheels.

The model also has an upscale interior with BMW Individual Opal White full fine-grain Merino leather seats and Piano Black trim.

Power is provided by a 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 engine that produces 560 PS (412 kW) and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque.  It is connected to a dual-clutch transmission which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Speaking of performance, the car also has an Active M Differential and M carbon ceramic brakes.

Marquez was awarded the car for picking up the most points during qualifying sessions this season.  He started from pole position eight times this year and ended the season with 365 points which gave him a clear lead over the competition.

This was Marquez's third time winning the BMW M Award.  In the past, he has received a bespoke M4 and M6 coupe.
