Fiat Professional has staged the world premiere of a Fullback medium-duty pickup truck today at the Dubai Motor Show.

After coming out with the Toro almost a month ago, FCA is now stepping up its game in the pickup segment by introduced in Dubai a new medium-duty pickup truck which will offer a maximum payload capacity of up to 1,100 kg (2,425 lbs).

Depending on region, it’s going to be available in single cab, extended cab, double cab and chassis configurations and all of them will be 1,815 mm wide, 1,780 mm tall and with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. Length will vary based on the body style as the single cab will be 5,155 mm long, followed by the extended cab at 5,275 mm and the double cab at 5,285 mm.

As far as the engines are concerned, in the Middle East and Africa it will be available with a 110 PS & 178 PS 2.5-liter turbodiesel and a 132 PS 2.4-liter gasoline motor with both of them linked, depending on the country, to a five-speed manual or a five-speed auto.

In Europe and other non-Euro countries power will come from the familiar four-cylinder 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine offered with 150 PS and 180 PS coupled to a newly developed six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic fitted with a sports mode.

There’s no point in talking about the design since it is basically a rebadged version of the Mitsubishi L200 and this is evident on the inside as well.

Fiat will start selling the Fullback pickup truck in the entire EMEA region from May next year.
