Mitsubishi is gearing up to introduce the 2017 Mirage at the Los Angeles Auto Show but that hasn't stopped the company from announcing the new Mirage Rockford Fosgate Edition.

Based on the Mirage DE, the Rockford Fosgate Edition features an assortment of additional equipment including a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity and cruise control.  The model also gains alloy wheels and special edition badging.

As the name implies, the car has been equipped with a 300-Watt Rockford Fosgate ecoPUNCH sound system.  It also has dual 6.5-inch long-throw ecoPUNCH subwoofers and a 300 Watt Class-D ecoPUNCH amplifier with full Digital Signal Processing.

Other highlights include an automatic climate control system, piano black trim and a keyless entry system.  The model also has power windows, a split folding rear seat, body-color door handles and a rear spoiler.

According to Mitsubishi Motors North America executive vice president Don Swearingen, "Rockford Fosgate is one of the most recognized and coveted audio systems in the automotive industry and we're excited to offer this package in a segment that doesn't typically offer premium audio systems. With its remarkable affordability, fuel efficiency and an industry-leading warranty, this new audio package for the 2015 Mirage warrants strong consideration amongst car buyers."

Despite the added equipment, the Mirage Rockford Fosgate Edition is still relatively cheap as pricing starts at $14,945.
