A leaked specs sheet is revealing the full details regarding the engine lineup of the new Renault Megane.
Starting with the petrol units, the French hatch will be available with three TCe motors with the base one being the 1.2-liter 3-cylinder TCe 100, generating 100 PS (74 kW) and 175 Nm (129 lb-ft) of torque. These power figures provide a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in 12.3 seconds, while average fuel consumption stands at 5.4 liters per 100 km. The same 1.2 engine will be offered in a 130 PS (96 kW) version that has 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque and provides a sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 10.6 seconds and 5.3 liters/100 km average fuel consumption.
The most powerful petrol engine in the range will be the 2.0-liter turbo TCe205 EDC with 205 PS (151 kW) and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) that is mated to an EDC automatic gearbox. Returning 6 liters per 100 km, this mill is enough for a run from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.1 seconds.
On the diesel side, customers can choose from 1.5 and 1.6 dCi engines. As the names suggest, the dCi 90 and dCi 110 have 90 PS (66 kW) and 110 PS (81 kW), while torque ratings stand at 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) and 260/250 Nm (192/185 lb-ft) for the BVM manual and EDC automatic models respectively. Average fuel consumption is rated at 3.6 l/100 km (dCi 90) and 3.3-3.7 l/100 km (dCi 100).
The 1.6-liter dCi engine will be available in two power stages – with 130 PS (96 kW) and 160 PS (118 kW), with torque levels of 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) and 380 Nm (281 lb-ft) respectively. While details regarding the Megane GT dCi 165 are not available at the moment, the dCi 130 engine provides 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in 10 seconds at 4 l/100 km fuel consumption.
