McLaren has launched their exclusive P1 GTR Driver Program at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain.

Seven owners took part in the event and they were supported by a dedicated pit crew and staff including McLaren Automotive Chief Test Driver Chris Goodwin.  Through preparation and one-on-one coaching, Goodwin said, "Every driver was close to the performance they showed on the simulator straight away, highlighting just how realistic the system is, and the bespoke nature of the program, ensured each driver was engaged with the training at their individual levels."  He went on to say the performance of every driver improved over the course of the three-day event.

His sentiments were echoed by McLaren Special Operations Executive Director Paul Mackenzie who said, "No two drivers are the same, and this program is bespoke to each skill set, with our team of professional driver coaches, engineers and technicians working closely with the drivers, as they would in a top flight motorsport team. This ensures the program is adjusted accordingly to allow for the best to be seen of each driver and each car."

McLaren P1 GTR owners who couldn't attend the event aren't out of luck either as program will now travel to the Sepang International Circuit (Malaysia), Circuit of the Americas (North America), Silverstone (UK), Autodromo Nazionale Monza (Italy), Red Bull Ring (Austria), Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), Bahrain International Circuit (Bahrain) and the Yas Marina (Abu Dhabi).
