Ford and Petty’s Garage have unveiled the 2016 Mustang GT King Edition.

Based on the Mustang GT, the entry-level King Edition features a 5.0-liter V8 engine that has been equipped with a supercharger, an optimized ECU, a cold air intake and a MagnaFlow exhaust.  This enables it to produce 670 bhp (499 kW) which is 43 bhp (32 kW) more than last year's model.  The company also offers a supercharger upgrade package that increases the output to an impressive 727 bhp (542 kW).

Besides the upgraded engine, the model has been equipped with adjustable sway bars, a beefier rear axle and Ford Performance TrakPak halfshafts.  Other highlights include a rear diffuser, a center-mounted exhaust and 20-inch HRE wheels with Continental Extreme Performance summer tires.  The model also has an upgraded interior with embroidered headrests, special floor mats, an individually-numbered plaque and a new shift knob.

The King Premier Edition goes one step further as it features a high-performance braking system, a tri-color stripe package and a bespoke leather interior.

Production will be limited to 300 units which includes 243 King Editions, 43 King Premiers and 14 King Premier Convertibles.  Pricing starts at $67,495 for the entry-level models and $90,495 for the King Premier variants.
