General Motors CEO Mary Barra has revealed the company will reevaluate their lineup and which segments they compete in.

The executive declined to mention which models could be on the cutting board but many analysts believe the Impala could eventually be given the axe as large sedan have fallen out of favor with consumers who are increasingly opting for crossovers instead.

When asked about the possibility of dropping the Impala, Barra told Automotive News "That's a hard one because the Impala is such a great vehicle but we can't look at where the market's been. We've got to look at where the market's going."  She went on to say the model currently has a role in the company's lineup but they're going to have to see if it will continue to have a role in the future.
