Lincoln Marketing Manager Imran Jalal has revealed some new details about the 2017 Continental.

Speaking to Car & Driver, Jalal confirmed the model will be based on a front-wheel-drive platform but all-wheel drive will be optional.  He also stated the Continental's grille could eventually be used on the company's other models.

Jalal declined to talk about the car's performance but he confirmed the company isn't considering a diesel engine and there are no immediate plans for a hybrid variant.

The 2017 Lincoln Continental will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in January so expect to learn more in the coming months.
