The Nissan Sentra has been on the market for a few years so it comes as little surprise that the company is preparing a minor refreshing their snooze inducing sedan.

Recently spied undergoing testing in Metro Detroit, the facelifted Sentra features a new front fascia with restyled headlights and a V-Motion grille which is hidden beneath the camouflage.  The styling changes are less noticeable out back but appear to include updated taillights and a modified rear bumper.

Our spies couldn't get close enough to snap interior photos but the 2016 Sentra is expected to receive higher quality materials, NVH improvements and a modern infotainment system.

The 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine will likely carryover but there could be a new Nismo variant with sportier styling and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The facelifted Sentra is expected to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show so stay tuned for full details.
