Following a massive leak from last week, the BMW X4 M40i has been officially revealed.

Now the most powerful version in the X4 family, the vehicle comes with a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, generating 360 PS (265 kW) and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to these impressive figures, the model performs the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) journey in 4.9 seconds and is able to reach up to 250 km/h (155 mph).

Visual changes are relatively limited and include new accents on the front bumper, side mirrors finished in Ferric Grey and 20-inch M light-alloy double-spoke wheels. There’s also a sports exhaust system with valve control and Chrome Black tailpipes on both sides of the rear bumper.

The sporty feeling continues in the cabin, where the Bavarian manufacturer has installed an M leather steering wheel, M gear shift lever, sport seats and door sills with X4 M40i lettering.

Other improvements over the standard X4 models include a sports suspension with stronger springs and stabilizers. The xDrive system has also been returned providing rear wheel-drive characteristics, while there’s also a Performance Control upgrade that ensures “a neutral self-steering response as well as a reduced roll tendency and guarantee a maximum of driving pleasure.”
