A couple of images showing the upcoming TRD goodies for the 2016 Toyota Prius have emerged onto the web.
Toyota Racing Development has already prepared a series of optional items to try and spice up the Prius and make it more appealing to those who are not too fond of the standard design. These attached images likely show the 2016 JDM-spec model which will be available with three-point LED daytime running lights and a front spoiler lip as well as extended side skirts and a subtle trunk-mounted spoiler.
In addition, TRD has also prepared a new exhaust system with two centrally-mounted tips along with several alloy wheel designs ranging in sizes from 15 to 18 inches. Chances are the interior cabin will also receive a number of enhancements and all of these new bits and pieces will be available individually.
It's not known at this point whether the TRD equipment tailored to the new Prius will remain a Japan-only affair or Toyota has plans to offer these items all over the world where they sell the highly popular hybrid. Expect the TRD-equipped Prius to be exhibited at the Tokyo Motor Show which will kick off on October 29.
