Mercedes-Benz has published a comprehensive photo gallery and new videos of their 2016 G-Class .
Introduced back in May, the facelifted off-roader is back in new illustrations showing off its boxy body which still remains desirable even after all these decades. The 2016MY comes with a 17% decrease in fuel consumption and a big change for the G 500 priced at €105,035.35 which has a 4.0-liter V8 turbo engine pushing out 422 PS (310 kW) and 610 Nm (450 lb-ft) which ensures a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 5.9 seconds.
If you would rather have a diesel, the only way to go is the entry-level G 350 d from €89,922.35 which uses a 3.0-liter six-cylinder with 245 PS (180 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft), enough for a sprint in 8.8 seconds.
A new addition to the range is the G 500 4x4² that will set you back €226,100. It has the same engine as the standard G 500, but it's significantly slower as the 0-100 km/h run takes 7.4 seconds, but it's a more suitable solution for those in the market for the ultimate off-roader.
The top dogs G63 and G65 AMGs are still available from €143,216.50 and €271,915, respectively. The former uses the familiar V8 5.5-liter with 571 PS (420 KW) and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) for a sprint in 5.4 seconds while the latter uses a beefier V12 6.0-liter generating a massive 630 PS (463 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) which lowers the 0-100 km/h time by 0.1s compared to the V8 AMG.
Mercedes-Benz is also offering special AMG EDITION 463 models for the G 63 from €159,341 and the G 65 from €282,208, making it the most expensive model of the range. These two special G-Class models come with a stainless steel underguard, AMG sport stripes, black aluminum protective strip insert and 5-twin-spoke 21-inch wheels shod in 295/40 R21 tires on the G 63 and ceramic polished 5-twin-spoke wheels on the G 65.
On the inside, the AMG EDITION 463 duo has a two-tone instrument panel, designo leather-wrapped seats with a two-tone theme and carbon-look side bolsters combined with contrasting stitching. The off-roaders have also gained door pulls in Nappa leather, a carbon fiber trim and a diamond look for the door panels and seats.
All the models will be available later this month, with the exception of the 4x4² which will hit dealerships in December.
