Alfa Romeo is showcasing their brand new Giulia compact sedan at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show.
We were hoping to see the entire Giulia lineup, but it seems Alfa Romeo has decided to display at IAA only the range-topping Quadrifoglio version which has lapped the 'Ring in 7 minutes and 39 seconds. The announcement was made earlier today during Alfa's press conference in Frankfurt where they have several Giulia Qs painted in Competizione Red, Trofeo White, Vulcano Black, Vesuvio Grey and Montecarlo Blue - all of which are combined with leather and Alcantara interiors.
The M3-fighter from FCA uses a 2.9-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder engine "inspired by Ferrari technology and expertise." It packs a massive 510 PS & 600 Nm punch and ensures a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) journey in as little as 3.9 seconds en route to a top speed of 307 km/h (191 mph), with the latter being revealed in the press released published today. It has a dry weight of 1,524 kg (3,360 lbs) distributed perfectly 50:50 front & rear, so it should be a lean and mean machine.
Now we also have an official starting price for the Italian beast: "about" €79,000 at home in Italy where it's scheduled to go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year.
Check out the press release for additional data.
