A pair of 2017 Audi A5 Coupes have been spied putting in a few laps on the Nurburgring.

Caught wearing swirly black and white camouflage, the coupes follow in the footsteps of the 2016 A4 and feature an evolutionary design with a familiar grille and larger air intakes.  The cars also have door-mounted mirrors, a sporty roof and a short trunk with an integrated spoiler.

The interior largely carries over from the A4 and features aluminum trim, metallic accents, and a free-standing infotainment system.

Audi hasn't said much about the model but it will ride on the MLB Evo platform and weigh approximately 100 kg (220 lbs) less than its predecessor.

Engine options will echo the A4 so expect a variety of familiar petrol and diesel units including a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder that has outputs of 190 PS (140 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque as well as 252 PS (185 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque.
